Notes From Copenhagen Fashion Week
Who: Me, dummy
Where: Copenhagen
What: Fashion Week Spring Summer 2027
When: Aug 3 2026 - Aug 7 2026
Why: That’s on a “need to know”
Quiet…do you hear that? Do you hear the sound of fabulous nordic style? No? Shame, I do! And, because you know me, you’re about to as well!
Henrik Vibskov
Vibskov is deeply fun. It’s prints that aren’t afraid to challenge you, cuts that refuse to bend a knee and seemingly the Nordic response to Comme des Garçons. There’s something a bit Phoebe Philo meets Louise Trotter about the whole affair. Unlike at Rick Owens, as separates, the pieces are actually quite versatile. The brand lends itself to picking up a piece here and there. It doesn’t insist you commit to a whole look. Its garments that fit in at an art gallery, advertising firm, movie premiere, or stadium tour. It’s an approachable brand for the pseudo-corporate creative.
Freya Dalsjø
This feels like what Veronica Leoni wanted to do with Calvin Klein. It’s structural while shockingly fluid. It’s serious without being full of itself. It’s what I imagine we might’ve seen had Peter Do stayed longer at Helmut Lang. It’s what I would hope someone like Gwyneth Paltrow wears to a power lunch. I want to launch my wellness brand wearing these clothes. I would imagine it makes you feel like the world's chicest psychologist. It’s hard to believe you aren't looking at sketches; it's just so…clean and effortless and unbelievably executed. I’m a fan, and you should be too!
Baum und Pferdgarten
I mean, it doesn't get a whole lot more fun than this. I also somehow feel it doesn’t get a whole lot more referential than this. And, I mean this as a compliment. The collection isn’t derivative; it's evocative. It’s building on themes. It's a forward progression. I see the middle sister of Prada and Miu Miu. I see an evolution of the off-duty ballerinas from Ferragamo S/S 25’. I see prints and ideas from Burberry S/S 19’. I see bongs from Eckhaus Latta Fall 25’ RTW. And I definitely see Lotta Volkova. It’s an incredibly effective coalition of trends, house codes, sartorial proclivities, and styling sensibilities that somehow come together and create a collection that feels neither recycled nor tired.
