The Meal That Ruined Every Other Brunch

Some restaurants are worth planning your weekend around. Lord's is one of them.

The modern British restaurant tucked away in Greenwich Village has built one of New York City's most loyal followings, and after finally making it there for brunch, I completely understand why. Every dish feels elevated without trying too hard and indulgent in the way brunch should be.

Let's address the burger first because that's why half of you clicked.

If you've spent any time on FoodTok or NYC food Instagram, you've probably heard about Lord's famous burger. The catch? They only make 12 burgers each dinner service, and they disappear almost immediately.

But here's the insider move: go for brunch. IF you can snag a resy…

No fighting for one of 12 burgers. Just order it!

And trust me, you NEED to!

The burger starts with a beautifully cooked 7 oz prime beef patty, Welsh rarebit cheese, thick slices of raw onion, and a pretzel bun. Rich, salty, beefy, and every bite somehow gets even better than the last. I've eaten a lot of burgers this year, and this one immediately shot into my top tier. No notes.

Before your burger arrives, there is exactly one starter you need to order.

The Scotch Egg.

Even if you think Scotch eggs aren't your thing, let Lord's change your mind. A perfectly jammy egg wrapped in curried lamb shoulder, fried until golden, then served with cool herb crème fraîche. It's crispy, creamy, savory, comforting, and honestly one of the best executions of the classic I've ever had.

If you're fully committing to the British experience, the Full English Breakfast absolutely delivers. Hearty without feeling gimmicky, and makes me feel like i’m back in London!

Now... My favorite part of the meal…

Can we talk about the Sticky Toffee Pudding Pancake?

Because I genuinely haven't stopped thinking about it!

If sticky toffee pudding and the fluffiest pancake you've ever eaten had a baby, this would be it. Soft, caramelized, buttery, balanced by tangy crème fraîche, finished with flaky sea salt. Literally the most perfect bite I have had in quite a long time. It is decadent.

Every table should order one. No exceptions.

In a city constantly chasing the next viral restaurant, Lord's reminds us that sometimes a restaurant becomes viral for GOOD REASON!

So here's your game plan.

  1. Order the Scotch Egg.

  2. Get the burger AND full English.

  3. Do not leave without the Sticky Toffee Pudding Pancake.

And You'll leave full and happy! But to be honest, you'll probably spend the next week trying to convince your friends to go back with you.
